A huge THANK YOU to our employees for the continued work during this difficult time in our country.
COVID-19 UPDATE: NC Is Seeing a Spike in Cases and Hospitalizations!
We are still practicing the following guidelines (along with many more):
1. Social distancing
2. Limited gatherings of people
3. Frequent hand-washing (for 20 seconds)
4. Wearing face cloths/mask
5. Staying HOME when sick
Check out this fun video from Novant Health on safety tips during COVID 19.
Additional Tips to Stay Healthy During the COVID-19 Pandemic:
1. Connect with your friends and family via FaceTime, Skype, Messenger, etc. as much as possible!
2. Get outside and go for a walk (maintaining social distancing, of course!) - exercise helps release endorphins which helps with your mental health!
3. Prioritize Downtime and REST - take time for yourself to refocus and re-energize during all of the craziness. Log off of social media or from watching the news.
4. Use our EAP (Employee Assistance Program) if you are feeling anxious, stressed and isolated. It's important to take care of yourself mentally!

covid-19 update
Good afternoon Adams Employees,
Thank you all for your continued commitment to Adams Electric and your dedication to making it a safe working environment. I wanted to provide you all with helpful information and an update on where Adams Electric stands during this pandemic related to COVID-19.
Adams Electric is operating as business as usual but with strict guidelines as directed by the CDC and other state and local public health officials. Those guidelines are as follows for ALL employees:
-
WASH hands frequently and for no less than 20 seconds with warm, soapy water – wash them right after you take your safety gloves off!
-
Keep a 6 foot distance between you and your co-worker – if you must be close to a co-worker, limit that time to no more than 10 minutes!
-
Minimize group gatherings to no more than 5 -10 people
-
If you think you have been in contact with individuals with the coronavirus in the last 2 weeks, you are required to report that to your supervisor. We are here to help keep you safe AND your coworkers safe.
-
If you, or any of your coworkers, exhibit symptoms such as fever (temperature over 100.4 degrees), shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, or a dry cough – it is YOUR responsibility to tell your supervisor.
-
If you are sent home because you exhibit symptoms or have reason to suspect you have been exposed to the virus, we encourage you to seek medical treatment from a healthcare provider.
-
If you are out of work for more than 1 day due to a sickness, policy requires you to provide a written doctors note allowing you to return to work – please send that to your supervisor AND Human Resources at hannahbooth@adams-electric.com
-
Adams Workday Prep should be conducted in no more than groups of 5 – 10 people with room for 6 feet of distance between each employee.
These guidelines are meant to help protect you, your co-workers and most importantly, your loved ones from contracting the virus. We want to ensure we are thinking about the individuals who are high-risk and protecting them from exposure as much as possible.
Lastly, please have compassion for your co-workers during this time. If someone is sent home out of precaution that they could have the virus, or they were exposed to someone who tested positive, then we need to all support that individual and commend them for taking the steps necessary to minimize transmission to other people. The coronavirus doesn’t discriminate against anyone and ANY body can contract it just as easily as the next. Let’s all remember that we are One Adams and we will make sure to operate as one during this time.
Thank you all,
Johns

Communication to All Employees About Coronavirus
Adams Electric Team,
In an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus (Coronavirus) to our community and in the important interest of public health, we want to proactively address a number of steps we can take as an organization. First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe workplace and encourage and/or adopt practices protecting the health of employees, customers, visitors or others. We also want to ensure the continuity of business operations in the event of a pandemic. Please visit www.adams-electric.com/covid19 for the latest news and updates.
We ask all employees to cooperate in taking steps to reduce the transmission of communicable disease in the workplace. Employees are reminded of the following:
- STAY HOME WHEN SICK
- WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY WITH WARM, SOAPY WATER FOR AT LEAST 20 SECONDS
- COVER YOUR MOUTH WITH TISSUES WHENEVER YOU SNEEZE, AND DISCARD USED TISSUES IN THE TRASH.
- AVOID PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK WITH RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS.
- CLEAN FREQUENTLY TOUCHED SURFACES.
- TAKE CERTAIN STEPS BEFORE TRAVELING (OR LIMIT TRAVELING) – monitor yourself for respiratory illness symptoms and notify supervisor and stay home when sick.
- DISTANCE YOURSELF from your co-workers as much as possible. Limit face-to-face interaction if you can.
It is CRITICAL that employees do not report to work while they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever (Temperature over 100.4 degrees), cough, shortness of breath or fatigue. By coming to work with these symptoms, you are not only hurting yourself but those around you who you have placed at risk of infecting.
Please review Adams Electric's Infectious Disease Policy. We are committed to keep our employees safe and that means that we ALL must take action in preventing the spread of this virus through proper hygiene (washing hands multiple times a day), engaging in social distancing when possible, covering mouth when you cough, reporting any symptoms of respiratory illness and staying home when sick.
Adams Electric Company is actively monitoring the CDC and local and state health departments for accurate information and will update employees periodically. Please reach out to Human Resources at hannahbooth@adams-electric.com or 336-349-6283 ext. 248 with any questions or concerns.
